The border line is fluid and ever-changing that it no longer resembles a line or a boundary: the air seamlessly blends the inside and the outside, transcending all limits.
The performance 7 ARIE explores the concept of boundaries and creates fertile spaces through fragility. Borders become a mirage, transforming with the movement of bodies, creating gaps and fractures whenever possible. The challenge lies in breaking epicenters: movement, acceleration, and rotation allow inner voices to manifest, expressing something new and different. Performers’ actions intertwine with live music, accompanied by violin and electroacoustic instruments.
Con-fine: where we both end up facing each other.
In essence, 7 ARIE explores boundaries not only as separators but also as connectors. While we often perceive borders as limits or sources of conflict, they also represent the idea of meeting and reciprocal sharing, simultaneously restricting and liberating, capturing the essence of human experience.
Andrigo_Aliprandi
7 ARIE is an artistic project created by Aldo Aliprandi and Marianna Andrigo, founders of Vertical Waves Project and Live Arts Cultures. Since 2010, they have interconnected dance, performing arts, and sound exploration. In 7 ARIE, six dancers and a violinist create images and sounds in a minimalist corridor-like setting. Within this confined space, they explore a dimension that transcends mere physical boundaries.
Vertical Waves Project
Vertical Waves Project is a dance company specializing in the production of vertical and aerial dance performances. Founded in 2010 by Marianna Andrigo, a vertical dance performer since 2002, and Aldo Aliprandi, a stage designer and technician, the company creates performances that utilize architecture as a stage space. Their work combines bodily and choreographic research with the technical skills necessary to perform at heights using ropes. These performances are designed for vertical architectural structures such as buildings, towers, and walls, which become the scenic space. Even unconventional structures like trees and self-supporting frames are transformed into dynamic scenes, allowing their productions to thrive in the specific natural context, constantly evolving.
