Nowadays, contemporary visual arts in Romania, curatorial practices, art theory and the process of artistic creation evolves into subjects focused on eco-democracy and human existence. Having a deep knowledge on the local and global visual art scene, Marilena Preda Sanc will coordinate an exhibition based on a conceptual research of social and political contexts, gender issues, ecology and local / global histories, by analysing the effects of globalization in the digital era and the presentation of the history of a humanity that redefines its identity to a more responsible attitude, both in anthropological and geopolitical perspectives.

”The Eco Art practices represent a transdisciplinary, interstitial, hybrid and multimedia territory in contemporary art. Visual arts and performing arts are often placed in the sphere of the social, political and educational dialogue from the perspective of a humanity that has been obscured by an exacerbated consumerism. Both nature and human nature took a hit. Eco Art brings attention to nature and the dangers generated by pollution from a double perspective, the aesthetical and the militant one. It is essential to understand Eco Art as a pure and ethical way of thinking and reflecting about the contemporary world.” (Marilena Preda Sânc)
