Asociația 4Culture și WASP Studios au deosebita plăcere de a vă invita joi 12 și vineri 13 mai, de la ora 20:00, la premiera spectacolului SOLATIUM, semnat de coregraful belgian THOMAS STEYAERT, în interpretarea a 4 tinere dansatoare din România.
UPDATE: Următoarea reprezentație va avea loc în data de 4 Iunie, de la ora 20:00.

”Solatium este o lucrare scenică inspirată de trupa belgiană de post-metal Amenra. Cele patru tinere dansatoare realizează o intrepretare fizică extremă a unor corpuri ce strigă, a unei căderi continue, a unor tipare repetitive de pierdere și amintire, pentru a găsi și transmite consolare. Consolare pentru problematici cum ar fi boala, pierderea prietenilor și a membrilor familiei, sau relația empatică cu privire la durerea celorlalți.”

Despre Thomas Steyaert
Timp de mai mulți ani Thomas Steyaert a lucrat cu Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez. Din 2006 a început să realizeze propriile sale lucrări formând Ponyhill vzw, un colectiv de artiști din performance, muzică, fotografie, film, și arte vizuale. Thomas Steyaert a făcut parte dintr-un grup de artiști afiliați cu KVS (Royal Flemish Theater, BE) și Ultima Vez care a organizat programe de schimburi culturale între Belgia și Republica Democrată Congo in perioada 2007-2010. Din 2009 Thomas Steyaert colaborează cu Raul Maia la un proces artistic continuu, bazat pe dezvoltarea unui sistem kinetic de mișcare, real-time și non-reprezentațional. Până acum cercetarea a avut ca rezultat două spectacole, The Ballet of Sam Hogue and Augustus Benjamin (eXplore dance festival 2011, iDANS, 2011, ImPulsTanz 2012, Fabrik Potsdam, etc.) și The Ballet of Albertina Macchiavello, Johnny McLay and Ignatz van Stereo (STUK, Leuven, Workspace Brussels, WUK, Viena) în numeroase lucrări video și performance-uri site-specific. În 2014 Thomas a fost invitat de Asociația 4Culture pentru a crea score#21 – Method of Elimination, la WASP – Working Art Space an Production, în București. În ultimii ani Thomas a devenit un colaborator apropiat al lui Haris Pasovic din compania de teatru East West, din Sarajevo BIH. Colaborează de asemenea cu Nermin Hamzagic și Selma Spahic, doi artiști stabiliți în Sarajevo și aflați în legătură cu festivalul internațional de teatru MESS. La începutul anului 2016 Thomas a creat colectivul ‘Moving Island’, stabilit în Sarajevo. Focusul principal al colectivului sunt lucrarile social-artistice. Thomas susține și workshopuri, pictează și crează muzică și soundscape.

”Solatium is a stage work inspired by the Belgium post-metal band Amenra. The four young dancers on stage perform an extremely physical interpretation of screaming bodies, endless falling, repetitive patterns of loss and memory in order to find and transmit consolation. Consolation for very personal matters such as sickness, loss of friends and family members or an empathic relation regarding the pain of others.”

About Thomas Steyaert
For various years Thomas Steyaert worked with Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez. From 2006 he decided to make his own work and founded Ponyhill vzw, a collective of artists active in dance, performance, music, photography, film and visual art. Thomas Steyaert was also part of a group of artists connected to the KVS (Royal Flemish Theater, BE) and Ultima Vez which organized cultural exchange programs between Belgium and the Democratic Republic of Congo (2007-2010). Since 2009 Thomas Steyaert is working with Raul Maia on an ongoing artistic process based on the development of a real-time, non-representational kinetic movement system. Until now the research resulted in two stage performances, The Ballet of Sam Hogue and Augustus Benjamin (eXplore dance festival 2011, iDANS, 2011, ImPulsTanz 2012, Fabrik Potsdam, etc.) and The Ballet of Albertina Macchiavello, Johnny McLay and Ignatz van Stereo (STUK, Leuven, Workspace Brussels, WUK, Vienna), in many site specific performances and in several video works. In 2014 Thomas was invited by 4Culture Association to create score#21 – Method of Elimination, at WASP – Working Art Space an Production, in Bucharest. The last few years Thomas became a close collaborater with Haris Pasovic from East West Theatre Company, Sarajevo BIH. He also works together with Nermin Hamzagic and Selma Spahic, two artists based in Sarajevo and connected to MESS international theater festival. Early 2016 he started the collective ‘Moving Island’, based in Sarajevo. The collective focusses mainly on social-artistic work. Thomas also teaches workshops, paints, creates soundscapes and music.
