The “You Might See Rainbows, Or Not.” project focuses on two working cores: on one hand, the series of high expectations and desires that we develop in relation to our existence, and on the other, the reality that often doesn’t match our expectations. The series of projections can represent the imaginary side of the coin, while the reality, the other. The dynamic between the two sides is generated by the life decisions and strategies that we adopt.
“You Might See Rainbows. Or Not.” presents the framework of a project. The first stage of work concentrates on acknowledging the importance of getting out of the comfort zone. Our life can take new directions, new dimensions, only when we apply new ways of action. The second sequence of work questions the inconsistence (that sometimes occurs) between how we imagine/want some aspects of our lives and their actual evolution to unfold. The new issue that arrises gravitates around our own relation to this matter.
Artistic statement:
Lately, I have been working in the field of painting, installation and film. Contemporary society dynamics oblige us, as induviduals, to always find new ways of adapting. In my works I focus on a double approach: to first identify the issues that the contemporary man confronts (a lack of profound communication, the focus on having — not being, the loss of reference) and, secondly, to identify the strategies by which we can improve our existential path.

Proiectul „You Might See Rainbows. Or Not.” se articulează în jurul a două nuclee de lucru: pe o parte setul de așteptări pozitive, dorințe pe care le avem în raport cu existența noastră, iar pe partea cealaltă realitatea, care de cele mai multe ori nu corelează cu așteptările noastre. Setul de proiecții poate reprezenta o fațetă a monedei imaginare, iar realitatea, cealaltă fațetă. Dinamica între cele două fațete este generată de deciziile și de strategiile de viață pe care le adoptăm.
„You Might See Rainbows. Or Not.” prezintă scheletul de lucru al unui proiect. Într-o primă etapă de lucru se concentrează pe conștientizarea importanței ieșirii din zona de confort. Viața noastră poate căpăta noi direcții, noi dimensiuni, doar în momentul în care aplicăm noi moduri de acțiune. A doua secvență de lucru problematizează lipsa de concordanță care apare uneori între modul în care ne imaginăm/dorim să decurgă anumite aspecte ale vieții noastre și modul lor real de desfășurare. Noua problemă care se deschide gravitează în jurul propriei raportări la această chestiune.
Statement artistic:
În ultima perioadă am lucrat în zona picturii, instalației și a filmului. Dinamica societății contemporane ne obligă pe noi, ca indivizi, să adoptăm mereu noi modalități de adaptare. În lucrările mele încerc un dublu demers: în primul rând, să identific problematici cu care omul contemporan se confruntă (lipsa de comunicare în profunzime, centrarea pe a avea și nu pe a fi, o pierdere a reperelor), și, în al doilea rând, să identific strategii ameliorativ-recuperative prin care ne putem îmbunătăți traseul existențial.
