WASP Working Art Space and Production

Găsindu-și inspirația în referințe – imagini și filme iconice din istoria artei, istoria dansului și performance-ului contemporan, proiectul „Practising solo collective” dezvoltă poeme în imagini, chestionează relația cu timpul, diferite niveluri ale realității și imaginii.

Printr-o deconstrucție cinematografică, proiectul supraexpune teme legate de identitate și experiment feminist, atât în spațiul domestic, cât și în natură. Referințele vizuale includ artiste reprezentative pentru istoria feminismului, oferind perspectiva istorică unei diversități și evolutii de expresie prin dans, performance, fotografie si video-art.

Andreea Căpitănescu, director artistic WASP Studios, alături de artista vizuală Aurora Király, oferă suport teoretic și dramaturgic în perioada de cercetare și producție a proiectului, prin întâlniri online, lucru în studio-urile WASP Working Art Space and Production, analize și discuții despre tematici si direcții feministe în arta contemporană performativă. Rezultatele proiectului vor consta în lucrări solo realizate de Flavia Giurgiu, Geta Corca, Diana Spiridon, Ilinca Hărnuț, Aurora Király, prezentate public în lunile septembrie și octombrie, la WASP.

WASP Working Art Space and Production

Finding its inspiration in references – iconic images and films from art history, dance history and contemporary performance, „Practising solo collective” develops poems into images, it questions the relation with time, different levels of reality and image.

Through a cinematographic deconstruction, the project overexposes themes about identity and feminist experiment, both in the domestic space and in nature. The visual references include representative artists for the history of feminism, offering the historical perspective of diversity and evolutions of expression through dance, performance, photography and video-art.

Invited by WASP Studios, the visual artist Aurora Király offers theoretical support in the project’s research and production period, collaborating with the artists Flavia Giurgiu, Geta Corca, Diana Spiridon and Ilinca Hărnuț in developing new performative works through the approach of a collective work practice.

The common interest of this choreographic project is working with coexistent collective presences throughout an apparently unique subject and developing a practice which disrupts through the manipulation of perception and action. In other words, while the body works with motion, sound and text, the focus is on areas between familiar and unfamiliar, between knowing and not knowing, creating a feeling of space and time expansion in which the boundaries are faded, the thin lines being unable of marking where an entity ends and another one begins.
