Raimund Hoghe s-a născut în Wuppertal. Și-a început cariera ca scriitor la ziarul german Die Zeit și a publicat câteva cărți. Din 1980 până în 1990 a fost dramaturg pentru renumitul Tanztheater Wuppertal al Pinei Bausch. În 1990, a început să creeze propriile lucrări și în 1992 a început o colaborare de durată cu artistul vizual Luca Giacomo Schulte, cu care continuă să lucreze îndeaproape. Opera lui Hoghe a fost prezentată în Europa, Japonia, Australia și Statele Unite și a fost întâmpinată cu apreciere din partea criticilor. I-a fost acordat Prix de la Critique în 2006, iar în 2008 a fost numit „Dansatorul Anului” de către revista Tanz. În prezent locuiește în Düsseldorf.

Raimund Hoghe was born in Wuppertal. He spent his early career as a writer for the German newspaper Die Zeit, and has published several books. From 1980 to 1990 he was dramaturg for the late choreographer Pina Bausch’s renowned Tanztheater Wuppertal. In 1990, he started making his own work, and in 1992 began a longstanding collaboration with the visual artist Luca Giacomo Schulte who continues to work closely with him. Hoghe’s work has been presented across Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States, and has been met with critical acclaim. He was awarded the Prix de la Critique in 2006, and in 2008, was named ‘Dancer of the Year’ by the magazine Tanz. He lives in Düsseldorf.
