The presentation of I not I in Bucharest is supported by the NATIONALES PERFORMANCE NETZ (NPN) International Guest Performance Fund for Dance, which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media on the basis of a decision by the German Bundestag

I not I lives within an installation for theatre inviting the audience to venture into a world of the familiar unfamiliar; chaos of gesturing and inanimate. Limbs and gestures cut loose, gain a life and truth of their own, moving into the realm of uninhabited forms and meanings.

Colette pushes the performers into the experience of being outside one’s body, of living it as a foreign entity. She asks, “Which forms and meanings are left to discover when one disassociates the ‘human’ from the body its gestures?”
