GROWASP – Workshops & Coaching Projects

GROWASP – Ground for Research and Orientation is an intensive programme of education and cultural training in the field of contemporary performative arts, intiated by WASP Studios in partnership with 4Culture Association. The programme includes workshops, special guests, public presentations, feedback sessions, opportunities for abroad training, artistic residencies and access to national and international productions.

The programme aims to develop new perspectives for young artists with or without specialized studies, in the desire to integrate them in the international context of contemporary art, offering training sessions in fields which are not available in the institutionalized educational system.

X Platform

X Platform is a residency programme dedicated to the new generation of visual artists across Europe which supports the research and the production of interactive, new and trans-media projects. Curated by Olivia Nițiș and Ciprian Ciuclea, the second edition of X Platform takes place from September 4th to November 15th and includes the exhibition of new works by the artists in residency, lectures, workshops, installations and performances by guest artists.

X Platform 2015 encourages the analysis of the body as a limit. The project tries to answer to questions related to the limits of the body in technology, the thought-out body, the abstract body or the decorporealization and its avatars in digital technology and virtual reality, anti-corporeality, the creation and representation of control limits of the body, the receptor body vs the generator body, the absent body, the individual and the collective body. LABO PRIX JARDIN D`EUROPE

Labo Prix Jardin d’Europe is a flexible format, developed by the LLB network in order to increase  the visibility and the mobility of artists and the circulation of their works. The Labo organized by 4Culture in the frame of eXplore festival 2015 will combine several LLB activities: presentation of Dance Works! pieces, showings of residencies, hosting of Critical Practice or Teachback editions and it will host the LLB network meeting.

Life Long Burning is a project supported by the Culture Programme of the European Union , dedicated to the sustainable support of the European contemporary dance and performance field and the enlargement of its audience. It is implemented throughout a five-year period (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2018) by a widely-spread and highly professional network of dance associations, companies and production houses: 4Culture (RO), CCN Montpellier (FR), Cullberg Ballet (SE), DanceWeb (AT), Veem House for Production (NL), Lokomotiva (MK), Station (RS), Tala Dance Center (HR), Uferstudios (DE), Ultima Vez (BE), Workshop Foundation (HU), Work Space Brussels(BE).

FOREIGN BODIES

Foreign Bodies is a project initiated by 4Culture Association in cooperation with Stiftelsen WEE-Scavetta/Kipperberg Foundation (Norvegia) and Reykjavik Dance Festival (Islanda) which takes place between December 2014 – April 2016 in Bucharest/RO, Oslo/NO and Reykjavik/IS and includes workshops, coaching projects, conferences, residencies, productions and presentations of dance and film. The project is developed around the concepts of ‘foreign body’ and ‘periphery’ and arises from the partners strong intentions to contribute with their international expertise to an enhance of artistic mobility in a context in which migration it’s seen as an important phenomenon of the society. The concept of ‘periphery’ is seen from the project’s perspective both geographically and economically, through the influence that it has on the development of certain groups within the society and, also, on their access to education and culture.

FAMILY ARTS PROJECT

Family Arts Project is a initiative of choreographer Valentina De Piante which aims to increase the awareness of general audiences on the function of artistic education and the importance of adapting the artistic speech in accordance to the constant evolution of society and to its youngest present and future publics. Designed as part of a wide programme of artistic education, developed in partnership with different organizations and institution from Bucharest, the project includes workshops dedicated to children and family, public presentations and conferences.

The programme aims to the education of a generation which values and cultivates the intelligence of the body, the creativity and the curiosity specific to the childhood, a generation which meets with technology at a very early age and needs intelligent tools and strategies to position itself and relate within the society, a generation in need of bold minds and bodies.
