Opportunities for professional growth and training

WASP – Working Art Space and Production and  4Culture Association celebrate the International Day of Dance during the entire year through special events dedicated to contemporary dance and performance: international residencies and productions, scholarships, workshops and creation laboratories, developed both in Romania and abroad.

All this in the frame of GROWASP – professional training program in the field of contemporary performative arts, with the support of Life Long Burning, Culture Programe of the European Union and Foreign Bodies, supported by a grant from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government, in the frame of the program Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage, with the support of EEA Grants and Romanian Government.

  • International residencies of 2-3 weeks in Bucharest, within Life Long Burning and Foreign Bodies projects | February – December 2015;

Workspace Brussels, Rosas studios, Brussels/Belgium  | Oct. 19 – Nov. 6, 2015

CCN Montpellier | 2 weeks residency at CCN, Montpellier/ France | Autumn 2015

Ultima Vez, Brussels/Belgium | 2 weeks residency at Ultima Vez studios | November 23 – December 6, 2015 

  • danceWEB Scholarship 2016 – full covered scholarship for one Romanian artist, offered by 4Culture Association within Life Long Burning Project.
  • Workshops in Reykjavik, organized by Reykjavik Dance Festival within “Foreign bodies” – (Supported by a grant from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Romanian Government, in the frame of the program Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage, with the support of EEA Grants and Romanian Government)

Halla Ólafsdóttir and Johan Moström | 17th – 26th August 2015 | A ten day workshop where Gizelle, the ballet, is remade with the workshop participants.

Mette Edvardsen | 4 days workshop in November 2015 | During the workshop participants will work collectively and individually exploring notions of choreography and ‘doing things’. Participants will develop specific tasks in various formats collaborating with the group, with objects and with space. 

  • Creation laboratories coordinated by Valentina de Piante and Andreea Căpitănescu (May – June, August – September, November – December 2015);
  • I.D.M.P.A ( Innovative Directions in Multimedia and Performative Arts ) – program coordinated by choreographer and director Simona Deaconescu ( April – July 2015) ;
  • A 4Culture and WEE co-production coordinated by choreographer Francesco Scavetta, with a team of international artists including performers from Romania, Iceland and Norway.
